MEET THE SPIRITUAL ADVISOR
RODNEY WEEKLY, JR
Minister Rodney J. Weekly Jr., was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in University City. He married the former Melanie V. Williams in 1995 and together they had a son, Jerrod J. Weekly in 1997. He is currently the minister of the Church Hill Church of Christ and serves as one of the associate ministers at the Wagner Avenue Church of Christ. In 2013 he completed his internship at the St. Louis Metropolitan Church of Christ. Rodney J. Weekly Jr. has a unique speaking and singing style that contains startling insights along with fresh and inspiring commentary, allowing the message to transcend both racial and gender barriers, enabling a diverse audience to understand and apply the teachings of Christ in their lives. His willingness to teach the church how to understand the true calling for their lives is outstanding; never shy about confronting issues that divide Christians. His spiritual teaching has reached millions around the world through the art of music, drama and gospel messages.
Rodney started preaching the Gospel in 2010 at the age of 37. His vision has always been to establish a local work in an area where needed the most. Being under the mentorship of Dewayne Tapscott of the Southwest Church of Christ and the Piney Grove Church of Christ in Alabama for 11 years, has primed Rodney for this great mission. He was ordained as a Preacher of the Gospel on
December 13, 2014.
Rodney J. Weekly Jr. is also the CEO of Running out Demons Ministries Inc. and his wife Melanie is CFO, a nonprofit organization started in 2004 that produces two major national events annually: ROD Preacher Explosion and ROD Gospel Concert. These events motivate, inspire, uplift, encourage, and bring those who are less fortunate to Christ through the art of music, preaching and dance; these events speak to the strengths of mankind rather than their weaknesses, empowering many people to go from hopelessness to hope and trust in the Lord. His fourth musical CD is in process entitled: "The Preacher" and will release in November of 2018.
In addition, Rodney J. Weekly Jr. and the Church Hill Church of Christ are leading a movement to strengthen marriages entitled: 'Giving the Vows a Voice'. The mission is to provide married couples with biblical answers to their life questions. Strengthening the life skills that will help them establish and maintain healthy marriages within God's original plan and the natural use of their bodies (Romans 1:26). The ministry aim to assist couples in the early stage of their relationship to prevent most issues from arising; focusing on love and commitment. The Marriage Ministry strives to help couples grow closer to the Lord and closer to each other so they can be better parents. Families are being changed through this work.
Rodney has a vision to unify a divided Nation through the word of the Lord. And through this vision, with the help from the members they will uplift, motivate, inspire, encourage, and bring others to a closer relationship with the Lord.
